From the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising to Operation Torch in Algeria, from the concentration camps in Libya to the killing pits in Ukraine – the story of the Holocaust as a pan-Jewish event.

In this lecture, we will trace the key milestones in the shaping of Holocaust remembrance in Israel: from the struggles surrounding the establishment of Holocaust Remembrance Day, its date and name, to the birth of the Zikaron BaSalon project. Through remembrance, we will examine Israeli society and what remembrance reveals about us.
